What is cosmetic acupuncture, and is it suitable for you?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a natural, holistic approach to supporting skin health.
Using fine, gentle needles, it encourages the circulation of qi and blood, collagen production and overall skin vitality.
Cosmetic acupuncture can be supportive if you are looking to:
Reduce the appearance of fine lines or puffiness
Reduce acne and support the healing of scars
Improve circulation, skin elasticity and skin tone
Each treatment is carefully tailored to your individual needs, addressing both the skin’s appearance and the root causes of imbalance within the body. Sessions often incorporate complementary techniques such as gua sha, facial rollers and facial massage, creating a deeply relaxing and restorative experience.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a gentle, natural way to support your skin’s health and vitality from within.
Rather than focusing only on the surface, this holistic treatment works by improving circulation, balancing internal systems, and nourishing the skin at a deeper level.
Using fine, delicate needles, cosmetic acupuncture stimulates the flow of Qi and blood, encourages collagen production, and enhances your skin’s natural glow. Over time, this can help to soften fine lines, reduce puffiness, and bring more tone and brightness to your complexion.
Cosmetic acupuncture may be supportive if you’re looking to:
- Improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity
- Support acne-prone skin or aid the healing of scars
- Promote overall radiance and wellbeing
Each treatment is tailored to your unique needs — addressing not only the skin’s appearance but also the underlying patterns of imbalance that may be contributing to changes in your complexion.
In a treatment, you can expect constitutional acupuncture (on the body) to treat any imbalances and facial acupuncture to treat your main concerns. Sessions will also include complementary techniques such as gua sha, facial massage, or jade rollers, creating a deeply relaxing and restorative experience that leaves you feeling refreshed inside and out.
How many treatments will you need?
1. Intensive Treatment
Intensive treatments usually involve a series of weekly sessions, as acupuncture works cumulatively — each treatment builds on the last.
The final sessions focus on consolidation, helping the results “stick” for longer.
Because this is a personalised process, we discuss your goals and expectations after your initial health assessment.
Treatment length varies depending on your concerns: for those focusing on fine lines and wrinkles, a block of 10–15 sessions is typically recommended. For acne as the primary concern, 6–8 sessions are usually advised, often combined with herbs and lifestyle adjustments.
After completing these initial blocks, a maintenance phase begins, where treatments can be spaced out and continued as needed, often returning when you notice changes, usually around 12 months or more.
2. Holistic Wellbeing & Maintenance
Cosmetic Acupuncture can also be enjoyed as a regular wellbeing and maintenance practice. Frequency is flexible, but we generally recommend around once per month. Monthly treatments are a gentle way to maintain skin health, support overall balance, and nurture your wellbeing amidst a busy lifestyle.
Cosmetic Acupuncture offers more than just a facial, it’s a mindful, rejuvenating ritual that reconnects you with your body’s natural rhythm and beauty
